Aaron Cynic writes at Diatribe Media:

This week, President Obama expressed “outrage” over the targeting of such groups from the IRS. “I’ve got no patience with it. I will not tolerate it. (Read more…) And we’ll make sure that we find out exactly what happened on this,” he told reporters at a press conference. The New York Daily News reports two Senate committees controlled by Democrats announced investigations on Monday and House Republicans said they would investigate as well. According to CNN, Finance Committee Chairman Max Baucus said “We need to know who knew what, and exactly what mistakes were made. The American people have questions for the IRS and I intend to get answers.”

While it’s certainly troubling (and not surprising) the IRS would be investigating and scrutinizing certain groups with a political agenda more than others, the “outrage” from politicians of all political stripes is nearly laughable when placed in the larger context of law enforcement targeting other political and activist groups. Just a few of many instances where law enforcement has targeted the left:

  • In 2010, the FBI raided eight addresses of homes belonging to anti-war activists in Minnesota and Chicago. Investigators were reportedly looking to connect peace activists with groups designated as terrorists in the Middle East and Columbia.
  • Hundreds of pages of documents obtained through Freedom of Information Act requests show that the Department of Homeland Security monitored, investigated and possibly infiltrated various Occupy movements across the country since the first Occupy Wall Street protests began.
  • In Chicago, the Chicago Police Department used two infiltrators to incite and entrap a group of activists now known as the NATO5, who have been in prison awaiting trial for a year on charges related to terrorism.
  • In the Pacific Northwest, the FBI raided homes and issued grand jury subpoenas for people and groups linked to anarchism. Search warrants issued show that agents were looking for things as simple as anarchist literature, backpacks, and black clothing.

How To Identify And Protect Yourself From Psychopaths

Vinny Eastwood and Thomas Sheridan together here, commiserating on the nature and tactics utilized by psychopaths and the best strategies for mitigation of this seemingly demonic or archontic force in human affairs.

Points raised include; “never try to out psychopath a psychopath”, the cumulative effects of government schooling (schule’ing) amounting to mass grooming for future enslavement to psychopaths, and how to elevate yourself beyond the games of those incapable of love.  With 1-4% of the population considered to be psychopathic or sociopathic; and the far reaching devastation wrought on a global scale by their pernicious influence, it is critical that the average person not possessed by this decidedly reptilian world view become aware of these often abusive and predatory aberrations and how they might prepare, cope and recover from any potential interactions with psychopaths.

83-Year-Old Nun Receives 20-Year Prison Sentence For Civil Disobedience At Oak Ridge Nuclear Facility

83-year-old nunA nun who peacefully protested against radioactive weapons of war has received a 20-year sentence for embarrassing the military-industrial complex. Via Nuclear News:

An 83-year-old nun who broke into a Tennessee depleted uranium storage facility in 2012, exposing a massive security hole at the nation’s only facility used to store radioactive conventional munitions, was convicted Wednesday and sentenced to a term of up to 20 years in prison.

Sister Megan Rice and two other peace activists were convicted of “invasion of a nuclear facility” in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, even though investigators admitted they did not get close to any actual nuclear material. (Read more…) The three activists are part of a group called “Transform Now Plowshares,” a reference to the book of Isaiah, which says, “They shall beat their swords into plowshares.”

As they invaded the Y-12 National Security Complex at Oak Ridge, a perimeter fence was cut, several surfaces were spray-painted, banners were hung and activists read from the Bible. They also spread human blood on several surfaces, saying its use was symbolic, meant to remind people “of the horrific spilling of blood by nuclear weapons.”

Depleted uranium munitions like the kind stored at the facility Sister Rice targeted are blamed for some of the worst birth defects and soaring cancer rates seen in post-war Iraq, particularly in the city of Fallujah following the siege of 2004, in which U.S. soldiers killed thousands of civilians.
