If you believe that the weather foreshadows far-reaching change, it may be time to worry, after a yet-unidentified object (or creature) fell from above, or emerged from below, on a reddit user’s property following a lightning strike. Did an alien creature just land on Earth? (Read more…) Did a bolt of electricity blast some poor squirrel inside out? Just what in god’s name is that thing?

Those are just a few of the questions asked after a streak of lightning struck a man’s front yard this weekend, blowing a hole in the ground and revealing a Lovecraftian monstrosity smoking in the dirt. Immediately, theories began to pour in from morbidly curious internet slueths, ranging from everything to a coagulated earthworm colony, to fulgarite, to a fried Koosh ball.

Seven-Foot Head Found Mysteriously Floating Down Hudson River

floating headSpring brings strange things. The New York Post reports:

The men’s crew team at an upstate New York college found the unusual object floating in the Hudson River. Officials at Marist College in Poughkeepsie say the team was practicing earlier this week when the coach spotted a large object floating near the river’s west bank. He hooked a rope to it and towed it to the team’s dock on the east bank. (Read more…)

The object turned out to be a 7-foot-tall replica of a man’s head made with Styrofoam and fiberglass. The head has the appearance of a Greek or Roman-style statue. So far no one has come forward to claim the giant head.

DNA Testing Reveals Six-Inch “Alien Ata” Skeleton To Be Human

The mummified remains of what looks like a 6-inch space alien has turned “Sirius” into the most eagerly awaited documentary among UFO enthusiasts. The findings, however, might come as a disappointment.

Filmmakers claimed the documentary would reveal that the DNA of the creature with an oversized alien-looking head couldn’t be medically classified. In fact, the film, which premiered Monday, features a scientist who concluded the little humanoid was human.

“I can say with absolute certainty that it is not a monkey. It lived to the age of six to eight. It calls into question how big the thing might have been when it was born,”said Garry Nolan, director of stem cell biology at Stanford University’s School of Medicine in California.

The remains of the small humanoid, nicknamed Ata, were discovered in Chile’s Atacama Desert 10 years ago.
