UFO sightings in Canada are at an all-time high, according to Canadian sky-gazers. The annual report from Ufology Research documented 1,981 UFO sightings in Canada in 2012, more than double 2011′s record 986.

While 40% of Canada’s UFOs were spotted in Ontario, every province save Saskatchewan and P.E.I. saw mysterious lights or objects in the sky.

Among Ufology Research’s theories on the growing phenomenon: “More secret or classified military exercises and overflights are occurring over populated areas; more people are unaware of the nature of conventional or natural objects in the sky; more people are able to report their sightings with easier access to the Internet and portable technology; or even that the downturn in the economy is leading to an increased desire by some people to look skyward for assistance.”

Two UFO witnesses about 1,200 miles apart seemed to describe the same triangle-shaped object in reports two hours apart on April 27, according to testimony from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database.

At about 9:59 p.m. ET, a Tennessee witness driving west along Highway 70 near Pleasant Hill reported watching object hovering over power lines: “I noticed a large triangular type shape with a big lit circle in the middle of it,” the witness stated. “The light was several feet across and was illuminated with white light.”

Then two hours later, a Colorado witness in Arapahoe County reported watching “a giant white, triangular-shaped object” crossing the sky from horizon to horizon in about two seconds. The witness was at home lying on a back porch and watching the sky when the object was first seen.

Scottish Authorities Baffled By Balloon-Like UFO Spotted By Jet Pilots

STV Glasgow reports on untraceable blue and yellow orbs as new hazard of air travel:

A passenger plane was involved in a near miss an unidentified flying object, two pilots have reported. The blue and yellow UFO came within 300ft of the Airbus 320 on December 2 as the plane approached Glasgow Airport.

The UK Airprox Board – which investigates near misses in the skies – heard the incident had taken place at around 3500ft. Both pilots on the flight reported seeing the UFO “loom ahead”.

The board heard the object appeared blue and yellow or silver in colour with a small frontal area but that it was “bigger than a balloon”.

The board said: ““Investigation of the available surveillance sources was unable to trace any activity matching that described by the A320 pilot. Additionally there was no other information to indicate the presence or otherwise of activity in the area. Members were unable to reach a conclusion as to a likely candidate.”
